Even though the official first day of summer was a few weeks ago, 4th of July always feels like the true start of summer. This year we were excited to throw our first ever summer party and trunk show to dive into the season in style with vacation ready clothing from our SWIMS pop-up shop and custom clothing from the Rochester Clothing Company.

What will you do with your summer? Do you have a summer bucket list of trips and activities, or do you plan to slow down, relax, and spend more time with family and friends. Maybe you'll finally tackle that stack of books you've been meaning to read? Now is the perfect time to slow down, catch your breath, and think of your intention for the summer and the rest of the year so time doesn’t just fly by.

The Colors of SWIMS

This season we were thrilled to have the opportunity to launch one of our favorite new lines, SWIMS, with an exclusive pop-up shop and trunk show. Full of bright saturated colors and quality details, SWIMS focuses on designing clothing for the elements, with an emphasis on water for spring and summer. Sean Hieter, the Global Sales VP joined us for the trunk show to share his expertise on design details that elevate each product like sneakers and driving shoes with gills that drain water so your feet never stay wet, and loafers and flip flops with arch support and a layer of air between the soles making them the lightest shoes you will wear all summer. Of course, no summer collection would be complete without swim trunks in a variety of fun patterns and colors that are quick dry with stretch and so they don't stick to your legs, and the softest of washed linen shirts, trousers and shorts to throw on when you move from the beach to the bar.

Chef Lee Wows Us With Summer Small Plates

Former pro wrestler turned chef, Lee Rosser has a sophisticated way with flavor and presentation and is making a big impact in the Bloomington culinary scene with his private catering business. His mission is to feed people with food and positive energy with big plans to develop food programs for the betterment of the Monroe County community. We were thrilled to partner with him to create a "beach party" themed menu that would pair perfectly with our SWIMS pop-up. With a menu of Thai BBQ shrimp skewers that were “out of this world,” beef tenderloin crostinis, individual mini crudités with dill cream, and a charcuterie plate that was nothing short of spectacular, he prepared a spread that was as stylish as it was delicious.

Rochester Clothing Co.

On the other side of the store were stacks of exclusive fabric bolts of rich indigos and plaids in fine wools and elevated blends available for made in USA custom suits, sportcoats, and trousers from Rochester Clothing Co. Custom made-to-measure clothing is one of our favorite service at Andrew Davis, and with the old Hickey Freeman factory in Rochester, NY we are able to offer our clients rare exclusive fabrics that have been collected over the years by Andy from the finest mills in the world.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate summer and update their wardrobe for 4th of July. Did you miss out? Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook to hear about all of our upcoming events!
